The heating’s on, and our smiles are warmer than ever as we prepare to give you the cosiest and most heartfelt welcome when you come to stay with us in St Annes over the next few weeks. And is it too early to mention the delightful aroma of mulled wine? No, it’s not! We’ll have that waiting for you at the bar, along with a touch of festive cheer.
Excitement Beyond Our Doors
You might be wondering, “What can we do once we get there?” Well, even though St Annes’ summer season has gracefully stepped aside, the town and its surrounding area continue to be a wellspring of joy for visitors, and the fun extends right into the new year.
European Championships and Wind sport Adventures
From October 20th to the 23rd, St Annes will host the European Championships of land yachting. It’s a sight you absolutely shouldn’t miss as you take a bracing stroll along the beach. And don’t forget to check out the brand-new Wind sport centre and café just north of the pier, specially designed to host thrilling events like these.
A Spooktacular Evening Under the Stars
For all you Halloween enthusiasts, Fairhaven, just south of St Annes, is the place to be on Saturday, October 21st. They’re presenting a Halloween showing of the beloved classic, “Hocus Pocus,” under the stars in Fairhaven’s Outdoor cinema. Grab your blankets, bring your friends and family, and immerse yourself in this enchanting outdoor cinema event.
Pumpkins in the Park 2023
Happening from October 27th to 29th, Pumpkins in the Park 2023 returns to Lowther Pavilion gardens. This free event is open to all ages and offers a variety of entertainment during the daylight hours. But as evening sets in, it transforms into a hub of lantern making workshops, pumpkin carving, traditional Halloween games, Ghost and Ghoul stories, crafts marquee, food vendors, and, by night, a fire and angle-grinding show, lighting up a parade around the park.
Live at Lytham Hall
Our favourite stately home, Lytham Hall, invites you to a series of talks entitled ‘Live at Lytham Hall.’ These engaging sessions will be held on selected dates from October 19th and continue right into 2024 on the last Thursday of each month. Dive into the fascinating history of the building and its original owners, the Clifton family. In fact Lytham Hall has a packed calendar of events this winter, so there’s no excuse for not checking it out.
The Bodyguard at the Winter Gardens
The Winter Gardens in Blackpool is all set to captivate you from November 6th to 11th with “The Bodyguard.” This award-winning international smash-hit musical arrives at Winter Gardens as part of the UK and Ireland tour. It’s a show that’s not to be missed, promising an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
Dazzling Blackpool Illuminations
And, of course, don’t forget that the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations continue to dazzle over the next few months, with an extended run until January 2024. These world famous lights are a spectacle like no other, turning the night into a canvas of colours and magic.
